Chaucer in the Alps Weekends

ellesmere-chaucer.jpg

The great fourteenth-century author Geoffrey Chaucer often travelled to France and Italy, and possibly might have crossed the Alps to reach Northern Italy. It is thus extremely fitting to hold a yearly Chaucer Weekend in the Swiss Alps! Every year in very early Spring, students, teachers and guest scholars spend two days in a chalet in the Diablerets where they read and discuss a chosen work of Chaucer's together. They also enjoy the beautiful surroundings with a hike, as well as cook, eat, and drink together!

The next medievalists' weekend will be April 18-19, 2015. More information soon!
