The second-year BA exam in Medieval English
The second-year exam in medieval English language and literature is a two-hour written exam. The material on which you are examined consists of:
- Texts from the IMLL I or IMLL II lecture and workshop you have attended and for which you received credit;
- Two groups of texts selected from the reading list (see English Section webpage).
The exam is in two sections. You are required to write two essays, one in each section. You will have a choice of two questions in each section.
Section I addresses themes related to one or more specific texts or extracts discussed in the workshop and the lecture.
Section II addresses themes related to texts or extracts discussed in the workshop and the lecture, and/or texts from your personal reading list.
