Frictionnator

What is it?
Frictionnator is a program allowing to compute tables of what landscape features lie between pairs of locations.
Input:
  • A set of locations, given by their geographical coordinates
  • A set of boolean GIS raster layers in Idrisi/Biomapper format, indicating the presence/absence of some landscape feature of interest (e.g. forest, road, village, etc.)
  • A few parameters about how the space between the locations must be scanned.
Output:
  • A table with a row for each pair of location and one column per feature layer, holding the density.
  • A map of most used paths between locations.
