Research

Regulation of gene expression, both spatially and temporally, is of a fundamental importance for many biological activities such as (i) cell proliferation and differentiation, (ii) response to intra- or extra-cellular stimuli, and (iii) development and tissue morphogenesis. Our research activities are focused on the elucidation of the mechanisms that control gene expression in mammals, including humans. Furthermore, our research also focuses on the generation of expression vectors to produce therapeutic proteins more effectively, or for gene and cell therapies. Four research lines are currently being followed by the laboratory.
