Blood pressure and heart rate measurement

This method allows for long term direct arterial blood pressure measurement in the awake, conscious animal after surgery.

A catheter is placed into the carotid artery of the anesthetized mice. The blood pressure is continuously or discontinuously  recorded after a one week recovery period (protocol on demand).Signal  are acquired and analysed with Ponemah software (Data Science International; St Paul, MN, USA).

Changes in blood pressure and activity can be followed for longer time periods (some days to some months) without disturbing animals. Effects of acute or chronic drugs can be measured with continues or intermitent recordings.

Cardiac electrical activity

This method allows ECG measurement for long term recording in the awake, conscious animal after surgery.

Electrodes are placed  in the heart axis of the anesthetized mice. ECG is continuously or discontinuously  recorded after a one week recovery period (protocol on demand). Data are acquired and analysed with Ponemah software (Data Science International; St Paul, MN, USA).

Changes in ECG, temperature and activity can be followed for longer time periods (some days to some months) without disturbing animals. Effects of acute or chronic drugs can be measured with continues or intermitent recordings.

Blood pressure and ECG.

These devices  allow to simultaneously record the arterial blood pressure by catheter and cardiac electrical activity using electrodes.

Changes in blood pressure, ECG, temperature and activity can be followed for longer time periods (some days to some months) without disturbing animals. Effects of acute or chronic drugs can be measured with continues or intermitent recordings.
