Visionary and concrete
Agenda 21 is part of the UNIL strategy for the years 2011-2016 and is a cross-disciplinary initiative affecting all of the institution’s activities. As well as the UNIL’s own vision of “its” Agenda 21, this document put forward a series of priority objectives and concrete actions.

Different stages
The first reading of the document drafted by the working group was completed by the UNIL Rectorate at the end of February 2010. The text will be amended thereafter in accordance with suggestions and interventions, before being validated once and for all.
Preparation of the UNIL’s Agenda 21 will take into account teaching and research activities as well as campus life, with a view to proposing an exhaustive model of sustainable development for the University.
By incorporating Agenda 21 in its strategy, the UNIL is expressing its determination to strengthen its commitment to sustainable development in all fields. In so doing, it is following the recommendations of the Unibat environmental audit and addressing the concerns of the State Council of the canton of Vaud.
