Bigger, and above all sustainable!
To meet the space requirements generated by the growing number of UNIL students and staff, various construction projects were launched in 2009 under the Campus Plus label.
Mouline
Finance awarded by the State of Vaud for the planned development project in the northern part of the Dorigny campus allowed a major building project to be started in the Mouline district.
The opening of the new buildings is planned for 2012. This new architectural complex with a floor space of around 35,000 m2 (20,000 m2 usable surface area) will be devoted to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment.
Symbolising UNIL values, the future construction will serve as a reference in terms of environmental protection and sustainable development. It will also free up space in existing buildings for other human sciences faculties.
Reorganisations - Dorigny 2012
From 2012, premises vacated by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment will allow other UNIL entities to redeploy in the Anthropole, Internef and Extranef buildings.
The Faculties of Theology, Law, Arts, and Business and Economics (HEC), as well as the University’s central services and associated institutions, are involved in this operation.
IDHEAP moves to the Mouline district
In the autumn of 2010, the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP) left its premises in Chavannes-près-Renens to take up residence in the Mouline district, to the north of the campus.
The winning architectural project respects the identity of the original industrial building, built in the 1970s. For IDHEAP, this relocation marks a new stage in its development in association with its university partners.
