REQUIREMENTS for PhD students

 

  • They are required to prepare and give a lecture on the assigned topic (Introduction to the field, summary of new insights from the conference on the topic, synopsis and outlook). Preparatory time approx. 20 hours.
  • Read the suggested papers and participate actively in the discussion on the covered topics.
  • Submit the final presentation.
  • Attendance of the preparatory meeting at the end of May, meeting with tutors for preparation of lecture(s) over the summer, participation to the relevant sections of the ISREC Symposium Horizons of Cancer Biology and Therapy - 2018 – and full time participation to the Cancer Summer Course itself.

 

REQUIREMENTS for MD students

 

There will be two options: 

  • (Option A): a selected group of highly motivated students, who will follow the same activities and same requirements as the PhD students, with due certification / acknowledgement at the end of the course.
  • (Option B): other interested students who will be participating at the ISREC symposium and the subsequent days of lectures, without having to prepare and give themselves a lecture.

 

The course language is English. Lectures will be held in Epalinges in Room B301. Students must register for the ISREC meeting http://www.sccl.ch/meeting2018/, with registration fees to be covered by their respective laboratories, or follow the televised conferences (free of charge).

 

STUDENTS’ SELECTION

 

-PhD students will be selected on a first come first served basis.

-MD students will be selected on the basis of a motivation letter
