Setting up the PrintUNIL printers automatically

The PrintUNIL application offers an automatic installation of both the PrintUNIL and PrintUNIL-Couleur printers. You will need the following information:

  • UNIL username
  • UNIL password
  • Your Mac administrator account

Download the  PrintUNIL.app and run it. Once the setup is done, you can delete the application.

Setting up the PrintUNIL printers manually

  1. Open System Preferences (Menu > System Preferences ...)

  2. Click on "Printers and Scanners".

  3. Cliquez sur le symbole "+", puis sur "Ajouter une imprimante ou un scanner..."

  4. The "Add a printer" window opens.

  5. Select the second tab "IP"

  6. Under "Address", enter "Your_username_UNIL@printunil.unil.ch" (example: etutest@printunil.unil.ch)

  7. Under "Protocol", choose "Line Printer Daemon - LPD"

  8. Under "Queue", enter "printunil" (for black and white) or "printunil-couleur" (for color)

  9. Under "Name", enter "PrintUNIL" (for black and white) or "PrintUNIL-Couleur" (for color)

  10. Under "Use", choose "Generic PostScript Printer"

  11. Press "Add".

  1. Check the box next to "Duplex" and click "Continue".

  1. You can now print and go to a PrintUNIL MFP to unlock your print.
