The 8th conference "Hepatitis E, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C: from basic science to clinical practice" will be held in Villars-sur-Ollon, October 7-11, 2012
On behalf of the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) and the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), we have the privilege to announce the 8th Conference on New Frontiers in Microbiology and Infection. The 2012 edition is entitled: "Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Hepatitis E: from basic science to clinical practice" and, similarly to the preceding conferences, will be held in Villars-sur-Ollon, a nice and peaceful resort in the Swiss mountains.
The annual Conferences New Frontiers in Microbiology and Infection are intended to be outstanding events in the field of microbiology and to meet the following objectives:
- Focussing on state-of-the-art understanding of the biology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, treatment, and vaccine development of infectious organisms, and their impact on clinical practice.
- Transferring knowledge and initiate a stimulating dialog between basic and clinical microbiologists as well as infectious disease specialists.
- Giving young scientists the opportunity to discuss their work with leading experts in this field.
All scientists with a research interest in the field of hepatitis B, C, and E viruses as well as infectious diseases physicians are invited to attend. This conference provides an opportunity for the transfer of state-of-the-art knowledge and understanding of important hepatitis viruses between research laboratory-based and clinical microbiologists as well as infectious diseases specialists. Young scientists and infectious diseases experts have the great opportunity to discuss their specific subjects of interest in depth with senior colleagues.
To stimulate and optimize interactions, the conference will include about 13 outstanding invited speakers together with only 60 participants selected on the basis of their scientific work and their interest in the chosen topic. In addition, 3 poster sessions will also be organized. Grants will be available to help participants with financial difficulties.
We encourage you to join this event and to submit an abstract of your work.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Villars-sur-Ollon.
On behalf of FEMS and ESCMID,
Jean-Claude Piffaretti and Roland Koerner
