Nemanja Masala has been a PhD student at the CVMR since March 2017. His research focuses on developing different acquisition techniques and sparse reconstructions for dynamic cardiac MR imaging, in order to improve diagnosis of coronary artery disease.

He finished a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Calgary in Canada in 2014, and an MSc in Bioengineering at the EPFL in Switzerland in 2016. It was at the EPFL that he became interested in advanced signal processing and data analysis methods for biomedical imaging, specifically for functional MR imaging. His MSc thesis in the lab of Prof. Dimitri Van De Ville focused on characterizing differences in functional connectivity dynamics between the healthy and diseased human brain.

In his free time, he enjoys dancing salsa, hiking, and skiing.
