Since 1988 the Swiss Physiological Society has met annually in fall with the aim to promote the identity of physiology as a scientific and teaching discipline. This one-day meeting is subdivised into a morning session dedicated to teaching issues and an afternoon session in which 10 of our younger physiologist present their work as an oral communication. A prize instituted in honour of Leon Asher and W.R. Hess (physiologists formely in Berne and Zürich) is awarded for the two best communications.
