Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology
Welcome
Welcome to the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology (LPB) of the University of Lausanne. The LPB is one of 6 laboratories within the Department of Plant Molecular Biology which study various aspects of plant biology at the University of Lausanne. The main research topics of the LPB are the study of phosphate transport, the study of fatty acid catabolism (ß-oxidation) and the genetic engineering of the plants for the synthesis of biodegradable plastics.
The main model organism used is Arabidopsis thaliana, but some studies also involve the use of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and the moss Physcomitrella patens. The following site will give you more details on the research being conducted as well as on the people working in the laboratory.
