Sacha Laurent

I am currently working on the modeling of speciation and extinction events, relating them with changes at the genomic scale. In particular, I am studying the impact of whole-genome duplication events in fishes and plants on the speciation and extinction rates of the species.

PhD student at Marc Robinson-Rechavi and Nicolas Salamin groups, Department of Ecology and Evolution, University of Lausanne, subject : Modeling genomes and the origin of species

Early 2011
Master thesis at Structural Bioinformatics Group, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, subject : Construction of a psychrophilic protein structure database

Fall 2010
Exchange program at Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina

Summer 2010
Internship at LBBE (Laboratoire de Biométrie et Biologie Évolutive) in the Bioinformatics and Genomic Evolution team, subject : Phylogeny of completely sequenced genomes
