Wide interest in Vertebrate biology, especially in ecology of mammals and birds: Development (PhD on ontogenesis of shrews) and reproductive biology (Vogel 1981, Vogel 2005, Parapanov et al. 2007), energetics (Vogel 1976, 1980, Giorgi et al. 2001) and body temperature (Vogel 1990), phylogeography, e.g. shrews on Mediterranean islands (Vogel et al. 2003, Dubey et al. 2006) and competition (Vogel et al. 2002).
