Duina PORTO joins us from our partner university UFPB (Universidade Federal da Paraiba) in João Pessoa (Brazil). She works on the reform of the legal system required to accomodate intimate relationships that are not exclusive with respect to other sexual or intimate relationships, with knowledge and consent of everyone involved, i.e. polyamory. She contributes to our work on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law (LGBTI). More...

Bojun LI joins us from Xiangtan University (Hunan Province, China) where he is an associate professor of public international law and international relations and acts as the Director of the Centre for the Law of War and Armed Conflict. He works currently on current problems of international humanitarian Law (IHL), inparticular the role of the ICRC and modern conflicts and contributes to our work in this field. More...

2017

Vandanet HING visited the Chair of International Law at the CDCEI from May to July 2017 as part of the EU Project Horizon 2020 as a guest researcher. Ms. Hing is a lecturer and researcher at Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE), Cambodia. Ms. Hing specializes in international humanitarian law (IHL) and human rights law. Alongside her research and teaching role, she coaches RULE students to participate in IHL Moot national and international round. She also provides IHL trainings to pre-deployment Cambodian peacekeepers.Ms. Hing holds a Master of Laws in Human Rights from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of law from RULE. More...

Annuska MACEDO SANTOS DE FRANCA PAIVA visited the Chair of International Law at the CDCEI from July to December 2017. She is a Law Professor at the Instituto Federal de Paraiba and a Ph.D. Candidate in Brazil. Her research is focused on how States can address Corporate Social Responsibility using regulations and public policies. The visiting researcher, hosted by  Professor Andreas  Ziegler, was granted a CAPES/Brazil scholarship for a 6 months period at UNIL. More...

Alphonse MULEEFU visited the Chair from September 2017 to June 2018. He is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Law of the University of Rwanda and a member of Rwanda Bar Association - Partner at Premier Law Chambers Ltd. He will be conducting a Post doctorate research at the UNIL and is an External Research Fellow at the International Victimology Institute of Tilburg University. More...

Phuong AN NGUYEN visited The Centre of Comparative, European and International Law at the University of Lausanne as a fellow researcher for two months. She is a teacher and researcher in International Law at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. Her fields of interest are Human Rights and Public International Law. Hoàng Thai Hi NGUYEN visited The Centre of Comparative, European and International Law at the University of Lausanne as a fellow researcher for two months. He is a teacher and researcher in International Commercial Law at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. His fields of interest are International Sale of Goods Contract Law, International Investment Law, WTO Law, Competition Law and Policy, Law and Economics, ASEAN Law and International Dispute Settlement. Hoang Thai Hy was invited to Lausanne through the EU Project Horizon 2020 by Prof. Andreas R. Ziegler, under whom he conducted a research.

Piya WONGPIT visited the Chair of International Law at the CDCEI from June 2017 to May 2018 as part of the EU Project Horizon 2020 as a guest researcher. He is a researcher at the University of Lao and holds a Doctor in Economic Development and Policy from Kobe University in Japan. His research interests are micro finance, international trade and economic development.  More.

Boutsakhone KEORODOM visited the Chair of International Law at the CDCEI as part of the EU Project Horizon 2020 as a guest researcher from September 2018 to December 2018. She is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economic and Business Management at the National University of Laos (NUOL). She obtained a Master in Development, Environment and Societies at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Gembloux in Belgium. Alay PHONVISAY visited the Chair of International Law at the CDCEI as part of the EU Project Horizon 2020 as a guest researcher from September 2018 to December 2018. He is a Lecturer with the Faculty of Economic and Business Management at the National University of Laos (NUOL), where he teaches econometrics, development studies, and regional economic integration. Alay holds a Masters Degree in Economics and PhD in Economics from the Graduate School of International Studies at Kobe University. Prior to joining NUOL, he was a Data Analysis and Evaluation Specialist with the Poverty Reduction Fund. He has worked with both national and international organizations in conducting impact assessments for development projects across the Lao PDR. Alay’s primary areas of expertise include monitoring and evaluation, policy and program analysis, and applied economic research with a focus on health, industrial policy, trade and poverty reduction. He has conducted numerous research projects in the fields of health economics, economic development, and international trade. Alay is experienced in developing and implementing complex field projects using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Alay is fluent in Lao, Thai, English, and Japanese. More...

Lay KONG visited the Chair of International Law at the CDCEI as part of the EU Project Horizon 2020 as a guest researcher from September 2018 to December 2018. Mr. Lay Kongis a deputy head department of accounting and management, and he is also a researcher at the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE), Cambodia. He specializes in business management. His research interests are business management and staff motivation. During his research visit, he conducted a research. Barbara MATEO (Expert on the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation) visited the Chair of International Law at the CDCEI as part of the Platform onn Business and Human Rights as a guest researcher from October 2018 to April 2019. She has worked closely with Governments, the United Nations of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the InterAmerican Development Bank (IADB) to operationalize these rights under their areas of competence, including laws, projects, policies, programmes and general performance. She is an active member of several Working Groups in the WASH sector, such as, UNICEF & WHO (on affordability criteria), or UNECE (on equitable access to water and sanitation). She obtained a Masters in International Relations and Economy at the Spanish Diplomatic School, and a Postgrade Diploma in International Commerce and Advanced Management Skills in Spain. She is a qualified lawyer (5 years degree) in Spain, with a Diploma in International Law from the City University in the United Kingdom. Her research interest is the implementation of human rights and business in the field of WASH (and related areas).

 

 

2019

Mr. THORNG Tedya Raksmey is a researcher from University of Law and Economics, Cambodia. He holds a master degree in insurance law from University of Jean Moulin Lyon 3, France, and he is doing his Phd at the same university in civil liability law. His research focus on insurance law, contractual and tort liability, especially the compensation of damages (moral, bodily injury, and property).

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong is the Deputy Head of Department of International Trade Law and a lecturer in the Faculty of International Law, Ho Chi Minh city University of Law (HCMUL). She received a Master's degree in law from Nagoya University, Japan in 2012 within the framework of  human resources development scholarship funded by the Japanese government. She is currently a PhD Candidate at UNIL. Her dissertation relates to international investment law and sustainable development. Huong teaches and researches in the area of international trade law, international sales contract, WTO law, international investment law with a particular focus on the balance between trade and environment. Huong’s most recent books is “Investor-State dispute settlement: legal issues and practice in the context of intergartion”, 2018 (Co-editor and Co-author). She is a co-author of several chapters in the Text book on International Trade Law Part I and Part II, HCMUL. She is also a co-author of the book "Understanding WTO Law through a number of cases on subsidies" (Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Tran Thi Thuy Duong).

M. LE Tran Quoc Cong,  Professeur et chercheur à L’Université de Droit de Ho Chi Minh Ville, Vietnam depuis 2014. Actuellement, il donne des cours sur le droit international du commerce, le droit de l’arbitrage vietnamien, le droit du contrat international de marchandises et règlement des litiges de commerce international. Il a obtenu un Master 2 en Droit international et comparé des affaires par l’Université de Bordeaux dans le cadre de coopération entre l’Université de Bordeaux, l’Université Toulouse 1 Capitole, l’Université Lyon 3 Jean Moulin et l’Université de Droit de Ho Chi Minh Ville. Ses recherches portent principalement sur le droit international du commerce électronique et le droit commercial international. Prof. Andreas R. Ziegler l'a invité en qualité de chercheur et à travailler à l'UNIL pour une période de trois mois dans le Cadre du programme HR2020.

Trong Luan NGUYEN  Actuellement enseignant de la Faculté de Droit Civil à l’Université de Droit de Ho Chi Minh Ville au Vietnam. M. Trong Luan Nguyen est titulaire d'un Master 2 en droit de l’immatériel et des technologies de l’information délivré par l’Université Toulouse 1 Capitole. Son principal domaine de recherche est l’ensemble des problèmes juridiques relatifs à la propriété intellectuelle et à la protection des biens incorporels (droit d’auteur, droits voisins, brevet d’invention, marque, dessins et modèles industriels, indication géographique, obtention végétale, etc.). Par ailleurs, il s’intéresse aussi à un autre domaine, celui de la responsabilité délictuelle. Il est invité par Prof. Andreas R. Ziegler en qualité de chercheur à l’Université de Lausanne pour une période de 3 mois dans le cadre du programme HR2020.
