Students in pharmacy

Only the first year of the Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Sciences can be followed in the University of Lausanne. The programme is mainly composed of basic sciences whose mastery is essential for the continuation of studies in the pharmaceutical sciences.

Students who successfully pass their first year exams (60 ECTS credits) generally continue their curriculum at the University of Geneva (Section of Pharmaceutical Sciences). They can also continue their studies at the Eidgenossiche Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETHZ) or the University of Basel.

For more information on the curriculum offered by the University of Geneva, see the website of the section of Pharmaceutical Sciences  and this document.

In this manner, every student in pharmacy first completes a 3-year curriculum leading to the Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. This first qualification permits the student admission to the Master degree programme in pharmacy, which lasts two years. As of the academic year 2010-2011, the Master degree in pharmacy enables sitting the federal exam, which leads to the pharmacist federal diploma. The Master degree in pharmacy also allows one to carry out a doctorate.
