Doctorate in Life Sciences (PhD)
In the life sciences, much progress is made today by the use of multi-disciplinary approaches. Facing ever more detailed knowledge in an increasing number of specific research domains, it is nowadays essential for a researcher to develop critical thinking, originality and scientific creativity.
The doctorate in life sciences offers young scientists the possibility to carry out a personal and original research project in one of the research groups at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine. The doctoral program complements the research work in the laboratory and presents to the PhD students the many aspects of the world of research. It aims to develop their personal and professional skills for their future career in research, teaching or industry.
In general, the degree of a Doctor in life sciences is obtained after 3 to 4 years of doctoral studies.
