Admission requirements

Admission requirements for MD candidates:

• To hold the Swiss federal diploma in medicine or an other diploma judged equivalent by the UNIL Admissions Office.
   
• To have a thesis director and to have defined the research field in which the thesis will be carried out.
   
• To be registered at the University of Lausanne and at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine from the beginning of the thesis and for its entire duration (contact: UNIL Admissions Office).

Are admitted in the MD-PhD doctorate students who

• hold a Master in Medicine of a Swiss University or an other diploma judged equivalent by the UNIL Admissions Office ;

• are accepted into the MD-PhD programme by the Lausanne MD-PhD Commission ;

• have passed the preparatory training (Track I or II) ;

• have a thesis director and have defined the research field in which the thesis will be carried out ;
   
• To be registered at the University of Lausanne and at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine from the beginning of the thesis work and for its entire duration. To get registered, the candidate has to follow the indications in Annex 2 of the «Règlement pour l'obtention du grade de Docteur ès sciences de la vie (PhD)» and contact the UNIL Admissions Office.

Admission requirements for PhD candidates:

• To hold a diploma or master's degree of the School for Biology of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine or another diploma or master's degree of the University of Lausanne or of another university listed in Annex 1 of the «Règlement pour l'obtention du grade de Docteur ès sciences de la vie (PhD)».

• To have a thesis director and to have defined the research field in which the thesis will be carried out.

• To be registered at the University of Lausanne and at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine from the beginning of the thesis work and for its entire duration. To get registered, the candidate has to follow the indications in Annex 2 of the «Règlement pour l'obtention du grade de Docteur ès sciences de la vie (PhD)» and contact the UNIL Admissions Office.

• To hold a Master degree ès Sciences in Nursing Sciences or another diploma or master's degree listed in Article 2 of the «Règlement pour l'obtention du grade de Docteur ès sciences infirmières (PhD)».

• To have a thesis director and to have defined the research field in which the thesis will be carried out.

• To be registered at the University of Lausanne and at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine from the beginning of the thesis work and for its entire duration.
