Doctorate in Medicine (MD)

For how long do I have to remain registered at the Doctorate in Medicine ?
Two consecutive semesters from the beginning of the work until the award of the grade. Ex-matriculation will take place automatically as soon as the doctorate is awarded.

My work is a publication. How do I have to submit it to the Doctoral School ?
In the same way as any other work (bound, with a transparent plastic sheet, a cardboard cover, an identical paper cover sheet and a one page (A4) French abstract, see the "Règlement").

Under which conditions a publication is accepted by the Doctoral School ?
It is absolutely necessary that the paper is published in a journal with editorial politics (reviewers) and an impact factor. If it has been accepted, but not yet published, please send a copy of the confirmation letter of the publisher.

Do I have to be the first author of my article?
Yes, unless it is clearly indicated in the publication that the participation of the different authors is equivalent.

My thesis has been accepted and I have paid the 500 CHF.- What else do I have to do?
Wait for the letter of the MD thesis office. You might be asked to make some small corrections and you will have to send six more copies. You will also be asked to fill in the form "Demande de grade de Docteur en médecine" and the "Avis de dépôt de thèse" for the BCU. An electronic version of the thesis will also be required.
