To obtain the graduate study certificate in ecology and evolution, a minimum of 12 ECTS credit points is required. Activities are divided into 3 categories: scientific knowledge (K), methodological improvement (M), acquisition and reinforcement of skills (S). Participants are required to obtain at least 2 ECTS in each of these areas. PhD students need to gain at least 3 ECTS each year. Of the 12 ECTS, at least 6 ECTS need to be from activities organized by the ee program. The remaining ECTS can be obtained participating in activities recognized by the ee doctoral program, and in national and international meetings.
How to get ECTS credit points.
- Register to an activity.
- Attend the activity. Active participation in the activities is needed to obtain ECTS. This may include homework, making poster/oral presentations, writing reports, reading a paper, looking for references before going to a seminar.
- Bring along the appropriate participation form. Teachers or course organizers are responsible for signing the certificate of attendance relating to their course.
- Hand in or send the signed certificate of participation to the doctoral program coordinator.
To help us to improve the quality and the offer of activities, please fill out also the evaluation form and send it to the doctoral program coordinator together with the certificate of participation.
Activities not mentioned in the web site can still be recognized. The request for recognition of an activity must be submitted to the coordination office of the doctoral program in good time.
Conditions for PhD students who join the program after their first year of enrolment are listed in the Directives (see the paragraphs in italic).
Activities are primarily for PhD students belonging to the ecology and evolution doctoral program. If there are places available, master students, PhD students, postdocs and academics can attend for free but traveling/accommodation expenses cannot be reimbursed.
