Molecular phylogeny and evolution

Summary

The course presents the introduction to DNA evolution and to the DNA-based reconstruction of phylogenetic relationships.
The students will learn how to use different programs of molecular phylogeny (PAUP, MrBayes, PhyML, Philip), statistical tests applied to phylogenetic reconstructions, and programs for divergence time inference.

Schedule: the all day, starting from 9:15.
Personal work: students are required to write a short report at the end of the course
