The Master of Law in Criminal Justice, subject area Magistrature, aims to improve and supplement legal knowledge acquired by students at Bachelor level, with particular emphasis on different questions relating to preliminary criminal investigations, hearings before the court, the execution of sanctions, and different procedures (criminal, civil and administrative). it also gives students an overall perspective of the phenomenon of crime by providing insight into criminology and juvenile delinquency.
As Switzerland has no specific school for the magistrature, the objective of the Master of Law in Criminal Justice with subject area Magistrature offered by the School of Criminal Justice is to give those students who are interested in the professions forming part of the Criminal Justice magistrature an opportunity to increase their chances of admission to these professions. it also has the objective of teaching future lawyers the basics of judicial practice.
