International Workshop
This workshop brings together scholars working in different disciplines, notably historical linguistics, medieval literature, paleography, codicology, as well as social and economic history. As all of the invited speakers take different perspectives on the North of England in the later Middle Ages, this two-day workshop will serve as a forum to combine the different expertise, focus on the interrelations, and establish a more complete view of the North of England in the later Middle Ages.
This event is organized by two research projects that are focusing on the North of England in the later Middle Ages (amongst others), i.e. the SNSF Project 'Late Medieval Religiosity in England: The Evidence of Late Fourteenth and Fifteenth Century Devotional Compilations' (Principal Investigator Prof. Denis Renevey) and the project 'Emerging Standards: Urbanisation and the Emergence of Standard English, c. 1400-1700' (Principal Investigator Prof. Anita Auer).
All are most welcome to attend. Visit the website for more information (link below).
