A workshop - organized by Andreas R. Ziegler and Michael Hahn (University of Lausanne), Eric de Brabandere (Grotius Centre, Leiden University) and Tarcisio Gazzini (UNIL - Foreign Services in Africa Project) - will take place on 19 September 2014 at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) in the context of the opening of the academic year of the LLM Programme on International and European Economic and Commercial Law, and it will explore the specific problems relating to foreign direct investment in services sector and thus the overlap of International Investment Law and Trade in Services. It will be preceded on 18 September (17:30) by the Fall 2014 Otto-Riese-Memorial Lecture in the framework of the diploma award ceremony of the LLM Programme in International and European Economic and Commercial Law (see separate programme).
