– Open Call for TransNational Access to Formulation Studies
Open call for TransNational Access to vaccine adjuvant formulation studies, which will be performed at the Vaccine Formulation Laboratory. This service is provided free of charge as part of the EC-funded infrastructure project “EURIPRED” which aims to facilitate and support research for poverty-related diseases including HIV, TB, malaria and hepatitis.
Applications can be submitted any time and will be evaluated at the next cutoff date (several subsequent call will be launched with next deadlines expected for early February 2015/May 2015/October 2015).
For more information on the eligibility criteria, call procedure, and to apply please take a look at the EURIPRED website:
– Open Call to apply for ADITEC Training Course on Adjuvants and Vaccine Formulation.
Course will be conducted from 15-19 JUNE 2015 at Vaccine Formulation Laboratory at University of Lausanne, Switzerland. APPLICATION DEADLINE: 28 FEBRUARY 2015
The fourth ADITEC training module is a 5-day theoretical course on adjuvants and vaccine formulation. The course will provide detailed information on the various adjuvant systems. Through a mix of theoretical lectures and highly interactive case studies, the course will give an overview on different steps of the vaccine development process including preclinical development, clinical development, and regulatory considerations –with special focus on adjuvanted vaccines.
The course is designed for people working in the vaccine development field who want to broaden their knowledge on adjuvants. It will be offered through the EC-funded project ADITEC. More information and application form can be found on the ADITEC website: http://www.aditecproject.eu
– Call for practical ADITEC training on adjuvants and vaccine formulation [closed]
The upcoming 5-day course will combine background information with practical demonstrations and hands-on training. In small groups, participants will learn and practice different formulation techniques and a variety of standard assays for characterization and quality control of adjuvanted vaccines.
Dates: 9-13 February 2015
Location: Vaccine Formulation Laboratory at University of Lausanne, Switzerland
Application period: closed
THE VACCINE FORMULATION LABORATORY
Adjuvants are increasingly used by the vaccine research and development community, particularly for their ability to enhance immune responses and for their dose-sparing properties. However, they are not readily available to the majority of public sector vaccine research groups, and even those with access to suitable adjuvants may still fail in the development of their vaccines because of lack of knowledge on how to correctly formulate the adjuvants.
This shortcoming led the World Health Organization to promote the establishment of the Vaccine Formulation Laboratory at the University of Lausanne, in January 2010. The VFL acts as a platform for adjuvants with the following main strategies:
1. Supply of adjuvants for research and preclinical development
2. Custom vaccine formulation services
3. Transfer of technology to vaccine manufacturers
4. Training on adjuvants and vaccine formulation
