Research Projects

Over the past few years, concepts and models of public management, as well as ideas linked to the public management of human resources, have all evolved considerably, to the point that today we speak of post-bureaucratic and hybrid environments (Emery/Giauque, 2014). This situation poses numerous challenges to current knowledge, notably how to better understand the sources of motivation and professional identity among the people employed in public sector organisations, but also the cultural evolution underlying these new approaches. The research conducted by the Unit contributes to a more fine-grained understanding of the essential concepts by assembling knowledge developed from the fields of occupational psychology, organisational sociology and public administration more generally.
