The main axes of ongoing research at the institute of Geophysics are related to:

•  Hydrogeophysical studies in porous and fractured media;
•  Stochastic inversion of geophysical data;
•  Joint three-dimensional inversion of high-resolution geophysical data;
•  Numerical modeling of seismic wave propagation in heterogeneous, porous, and/or anisotropic media;
•  Waveform inversion of ground-penetrating radar and seismic data;
•  Spectral induced polarization and self-potential modeling under saturated and unsaturated conditions;
•  Seismic reflection investigations of lacustrine environments, landslides, and the Swiss Molasse Basin;
•  Multiphase flow and transport in porous media.
