Prof. Niklas Linde
Curriculum Vitae | Publications
Niklas Linde received his MSc (2002) in environmental engineering and his PhD (2005) in geophysics from Uppsala University in Sweden. During his PhD studies, he spent one year as a guest at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He then spent one year at CNRS-CEREGE in France before he joined the Institute of Geophysics at ETHZ as a postdoctoral researcher in late 2006. After close to two years at ETH, he moved to Lausanne to become Assistant Professor in Applied Geophysics.
His research focuses mainly on joint inversion of geophysical and hydrological data for environmentally and hydrologically relevant applications. His main areas of geophysical expertise are electrical and electromagnetic geophysics, electrical properties, geophysical inverse theory, and hydrogeophysics. His teaching activities are mainly focused on electromagnetics and potential field methods. Niklas is a co-PI of ENSEMBLE (http://www.ensemble-modeling.org/) that aims at integrating the latest advances in quantitative geology, hydrology, numerical, and stochastic modeling in order to increase our ability to understand and predict complex hydrological systems.
