Marie Scholer
Research
My main research interests are environmental geophysics, hydrogeophysics and geostatistics. There is a growing need and importance for the protection, remediation, and sustainable management of groundwater resources in the future. This in turn requires local-scale knowledge of the spatial distribution of subsurface hydrological properties, as these are required for reliable predictions of groundwater flow and contaminant transport.
My PhD project addresses the aquifer characterization issue from a stochastic standpoint and is entitled "Bayesian Markov-Chain-Monte-Carlo Integration of Geophysical and Hydrological Data for the Purpose of Stochastics Characterization of Heterogeneous Aquifers".
