Cross section through the Western Alps

This cross-section is a synthesis of the geological research carried out in Lausanne in the Western Alps. It was published in the book "Deep structures of the Swiss Alps: Results of NRP 20" by Escher et al. (1997). This paper presents also the geological framework and structural evolution of the Western Swiss-Italian Alps. An earlier version was published in the Mémoire de Géologie nº 2 with some comments on the projection technics.
