Access to doctoral studies
You wish to study in a Doctoral programme at the University of Lausanne
Select the entry corresponding to your situation. Don’t forget to respect the deadlines.
PhD-students have to be registered at UNIL from the beginning until the end of their doctoral studies, meaning until the registration of their thesis at the Bibliothèque Cantonale et Universitaire.
You have obtained or will obtain a Master from a Swiss university or a Swiss university of applied sciences (HES) and you wish to start a doctorate at UNIL.
(Does not concern graduates from UNIL)
You have obtained or will obtain a Master issued by a Swiss university or a Swiss university of applied sciences (HES) or another Swiss university degree deemed equivalent by the Rectorate.
The candidates must be holders of a university degree deemed equivalent by the Rectorate to a Master degree issued by a Swiss university or a Swiss university of applied sciences (HES). In addition, they must be formally eligible for the doctoral programme in their previous university (or, where relevant, another university in the same country and recognised by UNIL).
If you are a graduate from UNIL, you do not have to send us a complete application. You will have to provide an updated curriculum vitae to the Admissions Service and hand in the “attestations de thèse” forms signed by your supervising professor to the Doctoral School or the Dean’s Office of the faculty/school.
If your application is accepted, the faculty or school returns one of the two “attestations de thèse” forms, signed and stamped by the Doctoral School or the Dean’s Office, to the Admissions Service before 15 October 2013 (autumn semester 2013/2014) or 28 February 2014 (spring semester 2014) (ou, en cas d'acceptation de la candidature tardive, celle-ci sera soumise à une surtaxe de CHF 200.-).
The “attestations de thèse” forms can be obtained on request at our service.
