Excursions

Currently the following excursions are part of the programme:

  • One day-trips to the international economic organizations in Geneva (WTO, UNCTAD, WIPO, EFTA etc.).
  • In co-operation with the University of Vienna we are normally offering an optional trip to Vienna-based international organisations subject to availability and sufficient interest by students in Vienna. Our program has a privileged relationship with the University of Vienna's Law Schools which organizes a two-day-excursion to the international organizations in Vienna, after Geneva the second most center of (economic) international organizations in Europe, such as Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA),Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) andOPEC. You will have to organize your own travel and housing (our contact in Vienna may help) but you will be allowed to take part in the full programme as organized for the Vienna LLM students.
  • Upon request by a sufficient number of students an optional one-week long study trip to the European institutions in Brussels;

Lausanne and Lake Geneva Region

Lausanne, the second-largest city on Lake Geneva, combines a dynamic commercial town with the locality of a holiday resort. The capital of the canton of Vaud is also a lively university and convention town. Sports and culture are given a high profile in the Olympic capital.

The setting of Lausanne is extremely picturesque: it is hardly surprising that the International Olympic Committee has been based here since 1914. The town is built on three hills, surrounded by vineyard-covered slopes, with Lake Geneva at its feet. Rising impressively from the opposing French lakeshore are the Savoy Alps. The attractive old town is largely car-free. Small alleyways with cafes and boutiques shape the streetscape in the medieval city centre.
