EPFL PhD courses

REGISTRATION to EPFL-EDNE PhD courses

LN PhD students are most welcome to attend the courses listed in the section "Doctoral Program courses" at the EPFL-EDNE PhD courses website, except from the BIO609 course.

Since February 2012, the EPFL request external students to register as an auditor beforehand, by way of a special form that can be found here. This form is to be filled in and sent back to the EDNE administrator with a scanned copy of the PhD student card, and with notice to your home program administration. Sending your PhD student card for the registration as an EPFL external auditor is only necessary once.

Please keep these points in mind:

  1. Some EPFL-EDNE courses have limited space. For those, the EDNE students have the priority, therefore sending your e-mail to the EDNE administrator is not a confirmation of attendance.
  2. Registration to courses taking place in the Spring Semester is possible anytime.
  3. Use your university email account (no gmail, hotmail, etc), copying the LN coordinator and your thesis director in your message to the EDNE administrator.
If you don't respect these rules, we will not be able to process your registration!

REGISTRATION to other EPFL PhD courses

You might also find interesting PhD courses in other EPFL programs. Please ask the LN coordinator if you wish to take any of the EPFL PhD courses outside the EPFL-EDNE program.
To register to any EPFL PhD course outside the EDNE program, please apply directly to the coordinator of the specific program.

Other courses and teaching events

These courses have varying modes of registration. The course links marked with an asterisk * direct you to a site with self-enrollment ("s'inscrire en ligne"), please do so and provide the LN coordinator with a course certificate after you followed the course (i.e. as when you register for a CUSO course).

Also for Unige courses on research-related soft skills marked with an asterisk * (e.g. scientific writing), please contact the course organizer directly since these courses are not organized by the LNDS.

For the other courses, send an e-mail to lndscourses@gmail.com (with the name of the course as subject and your supervisor in copy) at least two weeks before the beginning of the course. Please note that the UNIL courses on research-related soft skills are not organized by the LNDS directly, and places are limited and fill up rapidly. The LNDS coordinator will do her best to get you registered, but watch out for alternative CUSO offers!

You can register to the "Introductory Course in Laboratory Animal Science (module 1)" directly online in the RESAL website, but please remember to inform the LN coordinator about your registration (with copy to your thesis director as usual), and send the course certificate to the coordinator for credit validation.
