Throughout evolution, there has been nothing more certain than uncertainty. I am interested in how behavior and neural networks have adapted to and reflect this omnipresence of uncertainty. My aim is to link computation in neural circuits to models of decision making by exploring the path from simple reward perception to complex decision making behavior and prediction-error-based learning in uncertain environments. I employ an integrative approach using behavioral experiments, computational modeling, neuroimaging and physiological measures.
