Research Interests

In my previous research I worked on the topic of healthy ageing and neurodegenerative disorders. Large part of this work was the optimization of pre-processing algorithms and combined evaluation of FDG-PET and structural and resting-state MRI with neuropsychological measurements to improve understanding, detection and differentiation of Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer's Disease, microangiopathy and frontotemporal lobar degeneration. Thereby, I applied univariate (voxel-based morphometry and voxel-based statistics) and multivariate (support vector machine classification) methods to integrate findings from different imaging modalities into single disease progression models. In my future work I would like to extend the idea of integration of multimodal imaging data, neuropsychological measurements and genetic risk factors into single generative and predictive models of specific psychiatric diseases and in particular of different subtypes of schizophrenia.
