Research Interest:
I am interested in the study of image processing techniques and MRI sequences for human brain investigation.
I got my degrees at the University of Turin. During my Master’s thesis I worked on the development of an algorithm for the automatic segmentation of cancer nodules in lung CT.
My phD thesis deals with the accurate characterization of anatomical and functional properties of the human basal ganglia, structures involved in various neurological and psychiatric disorders, in particular Parkinson’s disease.
In order to achieve superior image resolution of these structures I investigate an integrative multi-spectral magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using ultra high magnetic field. I will use the provided quantitative MR information to achieve the automatic segmentation of the basal ganglia structures using computational frameworks like SPM.
