Our museum belongs to the state of Vaud, in the western part of Switzerland. Founded in 1818, it has become one of the most important geological museums in this country. Famous geologists, like Eugène Renevier or Maurice Lugeon, have contributed to the fame of this institution. Today, the museum still pursues the same aims: education, research and curation of scientific collections and acts as mediator between scientists and the general public.
