Research Interests
Elena's main research interests are segmentation and registration of medical images.

Short Bio
Elena is born in Macedonia in 1987. She has received the Electrical Engineering degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) in February 2012. Her Master thesis was under direction of Prof. Jean-Philippe Thiran, supervised by Dr Meritxell Bach Cuadra and in a collaboration with the Laboratory of Research in Neuroimaging (LREN) at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV).

Since March 2012 she became an assistant researcher from Neurosurgery Department of CHUV under the direction of Prof. Marc Levivier, and in collaboration with both Signal Processing Laboratory (LTS5)  and the Medical Image Analysis Laboratory (MIAL). She currently investigates, in collaboration with Dr. Bach Cuadra, novel image processing techniques for Gamma Knife surgery purposes in the domain of thalamotomy.
