The ultrasensitive detection of large peptides extracted from plasma is an achievement of qMSF
These last few years, we have developed specific skills and have set-up our liquid chromatography - ion trap mass spectrometer to perform absolute quantification of large (2 - 10 KDa) and small peptides at very sensitive amounts in various biomatrices.
The lower limits of quantification (LLOQ) of endogenous or synthesized peptides after plasma extraction are usually between 1 and 50pM (pg/mL). We believe that the control of peptide adsorption, our particular 2D-LC set-up, the large injection volume and the 0.3mm inner diameter analytical column are the key factors of our success.
With our approach, no antibodies or peptide digestions are needed and the method development is therefore rather generic.
With only a low financial contribution, we can evaluate our generic approach for the quantification method of the peptides of interest and the probable LLOQ in plasma or other biomatrices.
