Research Ethics Commissions at the University of Lausanne

The CER-UNIL coordinates the online submission platform and processes projects requiring an institutional ethical validation. It delegates to Interdisciplinary Commissions (created in each faculty) the competence to assess ethical aspects of the research projects submitted to them. They issue certificates of ethical compliance. These commissions only deal with projects that do not fall within the scope of the LRH - CER-VD.

UNIL researchers and students may, if they wish or if it is asked by funding or publication authorities, submit their project to these research ethics commissions via the electronic platform.

CER-UNIL provides part of the training and support for researchers and students. It works in collaboration with the new Interdisciplinary Centre for Research in Ethics (CIRE).

For additional information please contact the coordinator Pablo Diaz.

European Charter for Researchers
CharteER.jpg

The European Charter for Researchers is a set of general principles and requirements which specifies the roles, responsibilities and entitlements of researchers as well as of employers and/or funders of researchers6. The aim of the Charter is to ensure that the nature of the relationship between researchers and employers or funders is conducive to successful performance in generating, transferring, sharing and disseminating knowledge and technological development, and to the career development of researchers. The Charter also recognizes the value of all forms of mobility as a means for enhancing the professional development of researchers.

In this sense, the Charter constitutes a framework for researchers, employers and funders which invites them to act responsibly and as professionals within their working environment, and to recognise each other as such.
For further information and update, see:
