Offer of individual sponsorship and an Information Day for new foreign-language speaking Masters students registered for the 2012-2013 academic year

This offer comprises the following services:

BUDDY PROGRAMME

You will be welcomed in Lausanne by a bilingual student (French-English) who will be responsible for supporting you as you complete the necessary academic and administrative formalities. This student will contact you by e-mail before your arrival in Switzerland. The sponsorship will cover the following areas:

• Administrative formalities (residence permit, sickness and accident insurance, etc)

• Practical information about life in Lausanne: opening a bank account, leisure activities, public transport, doctors, shops, meals, etc

• Information about UNIL: life as a Masters student, registration, regulations, secretaries’ offices, lecture rooms, IT, student services, library, etc

INFORMATION DAY ON WEDNESDAY 12 SEPTEMBER 2012 AT 1.30PM, ANTHROPOLE BUILDING ROOM 1031

This welcome day will be attended by representatives of the university community who will talk to you about the benefits and also the problems involved in discovering a new culture.

Your attention will also be drawn to the possibility of taking a course in French at the UNIL to speed up your integration in the day-to-day life of Lausanne.
This initial contact with people from the academic world is a unique chance to gain insight into the many ways in which a stay at a foreign university can be an enriching experience.
