The Master's PMP is a specialist Master's Degree in Public Administration providing inter-disciplinary tuition and a twin academic/professional orientation. Course tuition and pedagogical approach both stress this dual aspect.
The study of public administration, and professional activity in this field, requires knowledge of a number of disciplines such as law, political science, economics, management, sociology and IT. This Master's Degree offers interdisciplinary training, involving teachers from different fields on the same topic, and provides methodological that encourage interdisciplinary analysis and develop corresponding cases and exercises.
Academic & professionalizing orientation
The programme for the Master's Degree in Public Policy & Management has two goals: to train future managers in Swiss public and para-public administrations and non-profit-making organizations; and to facilitate access to corresponding doctoral study courses.
Multicultural approach of administrative bodies
Switzerland’s multilingual nature implies the need for a multicultural approach to public and para-public management. The Master PMP reflects this multiculturalism by involving teachers from the country's three linguistic regions, and by offering tuition in each of these regions.
As training is available in Switzerland’s three linguistic regions, student mobility is strongly encouraged.
