Marshall Camille

After completing my MA in Lausanne and then obtaining my secondary teaching degree, I’ve returned to UNIL as a graduate assistant in medieval English literature. Although I teach mostly medieval literature courses, my doctoral thesis also looks at the early Tudor period and in fact seeks to break down the artificial period divide that is especially detrimental in the study of early theatre. I focus on the Towneley collection of biblical plays from a mid-sixteenth-century perspective in order to show that these plays are much more that an antiquarian or recusant attempt at cultural preservation.
