Vincent Laughery is a second-year doctoral student at University of Lausanne. Under the discerning supervision of Professor Kevin Curran, he is currently writing an FNS-funded PhD thesis on metaphor, affect and agency in Shakespeare’s tragedies. His forthcoming article “La formation affective chez Brecht” attests to his general interest in different theoretical and critical responses to stage practices.
Vincent’s research orientations are constantly fed by ongoing stage activities. He has directed and acted in several plays by Shakespeare, Brecht and others. At the moment, he is learning and sharing competences with a Unil-based actors’ training group he co-founded in early 2018.
