Danylovych Olena

Presentation

Olena is a doctoral student at the University of Lausanne, as part of the FNS-funded project, 'Re-Configuring the Apophatic Mystical Tradition in Late Medieval England'. Her dissertation explores representations of the mind and its functions in Middle English apophatic texts, with a particular focus on processes of attention throughout the contemplative journey. In studying The Cloud of Unknowing, Walter Hilton's Scale of Perfection, and Marguerite Porète's Mirror of Simple Souls, she is looking to identify a medieval vernacular philosophy of mind.
