I am generally interested in evolutionary biology and population genetics. My PhD research is mainly focused
on the evolution of sex chromosomes in animals. While most cold-blooded vertebrates maintain homomorphic sex chromosomes, birds and mammals carry high differentiated sex chromosomes. Using individual-based simulations I'll try to understand how these two states can arise and coexist.
