Livio Ruzzante

I am generally interested in all topics related to arthropod biology, notably answering evolutionary ecology questions with computational biology.

In 2013 I received my bachelor's degree in Life Sciences and Technologies at EPFL ('3-D mapping of motoneuron pools from different rat hindlimb muscles') and in 2017 my master's degree in biology at the University of Neuchâtel ('The effects of management regime on arthropod communities in Argentinian vineyards').

The research framework of my PhD thesis consists of development and employment of computational approaches to elucidate interactions between gene evolutionary features and gene functional properties through arthropod evolutionary and functional genomics.

More specifically, I will design and develop cross-species comparisons to quantify patterns of evolutionary change and explore strengths and interdependencies of correlations amongst evolutionary-functional correspondences.
