I am interested in the evolution of circadian expression of many genes based on evolutionary conservation. The research framework of my MD-PhD thesis consists of employment of computational tools to highlight biological functions related with conserved rhythmic expression of genes. The assumption is based on the position of the evolutionary biologist Theodosius Dobzhansky that “nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution”. The evolution provides a valuable filter through which to identify the networks that might be most clinically efficacious.

I also work on algorithms benchmarking analysis to provide to the scientific community some tools to choose the best algorithm to use to detect rhythmic patterns in gene expression.
