Tasks and Specializations
I am the lab technician and indispensable member of the Sanders research group. I am specialised in molecular biology and practice all manipulations relevant to our research subject, from in vitro culturing of mycorrhizal fungi to cloning, sequencing, DNA extraction. Maintenance of our labs and different piece of equipment is also part of my job here in Lausanne.
I also prepare material for lab classes for the biology students at the University of Lausanne for microbiology classes and molecular genetics. In addition, I have taught my own lab-based classes to students in our collaborators lab at the National University of Colombia in Bogota. I have also participated in setting up experiments with mycorrhizal fungi in the field in Colombia.
